My Modified
Brow Lift, Fat Grafting to Cheeks and Radiance to Lips - Page 5
Recovery At
The Hotel (May 7, 8 & 9)
 |
The weekend was uneventful,
just a lot of sleeping, surfing online, watching TV and eating
soup. Pretty boring, but effective. Not much to
report. The picture to the left was taken Saturday, May 8, 2004 at
8:30 am. Swelling is less than yesterday, but not my much.
Swelling in lips is going down, showing a small Radiance lump in my left
bottom side. I am not as hungry as I have been the last two
days. I ate some yogurt. The bathroom trips are far less
now, however I notice they increase after I take my prednisone. I
started sleeping on the sofa, propped up. It is way more
comfortable. I am so glad we got a suite because I can close the
door and stay online while Marc sleeps, and vice versa.
Marc is feeling well, he has his appetite
back and his asthma is fine. He is on Claritin, a different
antibiotic and another pack of prednisone. |
Monday, May 10, 2004 - First Post-op Appt. (5 days post)
I am very happy with what I seen so far. My lips were finished today (I had to do the bottom
some more today). I also got to meet a rep
from Bioform (makers of Radiance) and talk shop about fillers. (Thank you, Bob!) Got some pics of
my injections and now that the
swelling is pretty minimal it is looking nice! I hope it stays this
way. The Gore-Tex was a pain, as it was very much in the way.

The Radiance rep commented on the symmetry of the fat grafting, which I have to say surprised me, too.
I mean considering
my cheeks are asymmetrical to begin with and I expected unequal swelling, and what not, so far it reminds me of a
doll. Like symmetry that can only come out of a Barbie mold, lol.
I am not being conceited; I am just trying to
explain my pleasant surprise at the symmetry of my cheeks so soon in the game.
Now I pray for it to STAY THIS WAY!
Dr Rusca said I didn't need a lymphatic drainage massage yet
because my swelling is fading fast. Marc had one today though.
The whole experience has so far passes my expectations. From pain, to swelling and bruising to mental attitude, I
couldn't ask for more. I can't wait to get home and set my pics page up.
Back At The
Hotel, Monday Night. I am sitting here watching The Swan, while I surfing the
boards. The second episode of The Swan is on now and I must say one of the pts (Marnie)
needs to listen to her doc! She is totally not listening to his
instructions. She turned out beautiful though!
Warning: Don't watch the T Mobile commercial with the patient who had cellphone bill
shock. I almost popped a stitch! It was too funny.

We started our 20 minute soaks
this morning for the bruising, which means I had to lie in the tub in
very warm water all the way to my neck. However, the tub is shallow and
my boobs sat right out of water. I then jumped in the shower to wash my hair which STILL has junk in it and
Aquaphor because I am being careful not to hurt my incisions on my head. Then we
got dressed, okay Marc got dressed, I just wore the pink yoga/sleep
outfit that Darlene got me again because it is the only thing that fit,
and fit comfortably. I also threw on the pink matching slippers
she got me, with white footie socks no less. I look like a train
wreck, or at last I look like I have been in a train wreck.
Cecilia Stein came over today to see us
at 1 pm and we talked and talked about plastic surgery. She
is such a wonderful, and caring person. |
After Cecilia left, we went to Lenox mall to buy the Bare Escentuals powder Mineral foundation which ROCKS!! They don't have a
Bare Escentuals in Las Vegas yet so I had called the Atlanta store two weeks ago about it. Their store was also on the local news last
night so as luck would have it is was busier than normal.
I bought Mineral Veil, Powder Foundation in
Suntan Medium (which I will wear once I have my sunless tans again), the
kabuki brush (expensive but very worth it), and a lipstick. What is
hilarious is the girl had thought Marc had beaten me up, lol And she
started saying, half joking, "I was about to say, you got a whole lotta
nerve coming up in here." She remarked on my outfit and said, "You
even have your house-shoes on." I haven't heard that term since I
lived in New Orleans
BTW I look like a corpse in the lighting at Bare
Escentuals (middle pic). Believe it or not, that was the best pic. I
could gave landed a part in Dawn of the Dead as an extra, had I sent them a copy
of the other pics.
We also bought Marc a shirt to wear to dinner tonight because all of his
shirts are way too big now. He is a small-medium now instead of an extra
large. Amazing. We met with a few plastic surgery friends of ours at
Chequers in Atlanta. Dinner was great tonight!

We went back home pretty early, I
get tired pretty fast. I am well but am more swollen today. I have been doing my soaks and what not so I guess it is just normal.
I made an appt for Lymphatic drainage massage at 2
tomorrow. I hope I am not gaining weight or anything because I had Chinese food yesterday and today, lol.
But
I am sure it is just swelling. I didn't overeat. I am kind of
mad at Marc though because he had a chili
cheese dog, fries, a coke and a shake at lunch and I had grilled eel and
beef and broccoli.
The sutures between my knees are starting to itch like mad and get a little red so they are ready to come out for sure--so I am looking
forward to removal. I would have done it myself but don't want to disobey
orders if they should stay in until tomorrow.
All in all I feel fabulous, but I had to take Marc's Lortabs, he only had a few left but I have needed his because I have
had more pain than he and my tolerance to meds is higher. I took Tylenol only during the day but at night I take
the Lortab so I
can be comfy sleeping. My saddle bag area is the area which hurts most.
I swear it feels as though someone kicked me repeatedly in that area.
I had a very firm area close to the medial suborbital area but two warm compresses fixed it!
I
hope I lose no more in my cheeks but know I probably will. They are so beautiful,
I love them!
I also massaged my Radiance lump, it goes away and then comes back so I know
it is swelling. I hope my lips stay this size
too!
My Forehead is adhering again YAY! Talk about weird sensations to have
bubbles in your forehead and hear them and then touch your forehead and then
the top of your head jumps like it is on fire. Nerves are weird little
beings.
Oh! I am happy to report my pants were falling off
tonight when I walked, HOW FABULOUS IS THAT?!?
When I take hot soaks I can feel my pulse in my brow
incisions, talk about hurt!
Wednesday - May 12, 2004 (7
days post)
Last night I just laid in the dark from 1 to 5 thinking because I couldn't sleep and I took
two Unisom and a Lortab. I don't EVEN know why I couldn't sleep. I was very sore, uncomfortable, itchy by my knees and my garment felt
very uncomfortable.
But today started out great! We did our soaks, got ready and took
off for our last follow up before our flight tonight. Here are some pics
I took in the hotel lobby waiting to leave for Dr Rusca's.
We got our lipo sutures
removed today, the brow sutures stay in as they are dissolvable, as are my
breast sutures. Yorleny, Tony's wife, out on my make up today for
photos which Dr. Rusca took afterwards.
I toned it down once we got in the
car because although it was great for professional pics, it was a bit dramatic
for dayware and my flight home. Also, I'd rather show bruises than look
like I am trying to hide bruises so that came through when I lightened the
foundation and blush. Don't get me wrong, it was a lot of fun and she is
talented but I couldn't wear that much make up, in daylight, in public, and in
the South even! So here are the pics of me on the way to the airport
after toning the make up down...
