Website interview

This day was really exciting! Now, I can't tell you too much but I'll fill you in on the basics. We were filming for a Pilot to be hosted by the immortal John Stossel on ABC. Those of you not familiar with the term "Pilot", it is sort of a sample show that is made for the approval of the executives of certain media companies and other financial backing corporations. The executives view the pilots and decide whether or not their companies would benefit from such a program. They then pick the fortunate pilots that they like to begat more programs to air in the upcoming seasons. Most likely the Fall program schedules. If the program gets good ratings - it's a keeper. If not, they get thrown in the trash bin with the other "losers". That doesn't necessarily mean that this program will go anywhere, but with the topics that they discuss and being hosted by such an extraordinary journalist, this one has more than a fighting chance.

Part I: Product & Cosmetics Application

We started the day off at a little before 10 AM on a Monday, me in my pajamas and unwashed face per the New York producer's instructions. I first met the producer, a beautiful, lively and upbeat woman by the name of C.M. I liked her immediately! Then I met both the cameraman, Jarid and the Soundman (whose name I shamefully have forgotten) I am sorry Soundman, you were nice and I hope you forgive me. If you are reading this, please email me so that I may add your name. They taped me applying my products and cosmetics first off. I even had to apply eyeshadow, curl my lashes and apply lipstick using the camera's lens as a mirror. That was neat. The lights were indeed hot in my little bathroom. But we did well, I think.

Part II: Website Interview

Then it was off to our "office" to tape the Website Interview. Here I told the story of how and why I created the Yes They're Fake website and gave the camera a little tour of my pages. That was pretty cool, too. These people were wonderful. C.M. had to brush my hair out of my face I don't even know how many times. I am determined to get a new hairstyle as soon as I have the time and the guts to do so.

Part III: Microdermabrasion & Interview with Dr. Friedman

Next we were off to my surgeon's office for a Microdermabrasion session. We never took any still shots of this as it was a small room to begin with, much less with 5 people crammed in there. We met with Francesca who has had the same three procedures as I have had. She just had her lips done about 2 weeks ago so hers were really nice and pouty. She plans on getting collagen on top of her Gore-Tex implants as well. Francesca didn't turn up the machine too strong as I had to reapply make up and finish out the rest of that day's taping. She did offer to let me come back and have another session. When we were taping in front of the Surgery center there was the commute traffic out in front. All the people in passing cars and in the cars stuck at the light were staring and wondering what was going on with all that equipment. I felt important. : )

Part IV: Personal Interview

We then went back to our house to shoot the personal interview (both my boyfriend and I). Ladies, if there were ever a gentleman, it is MY boyfriend. They through him a curveball question: "Do you consider her a trophy girlfriend?" Without missing a beat my man said, "No! I don't consider her a trophy! I love her for HER, she is a wonderful person as well as being beautiful." (Stand back ladies! He's mine! Ha Ha!!!)

Part V: Rollerblading and B-Roll

Photos Coming Soon!

The B-roll was stupid for us. B-roll is where they just film you doing whatever with the purpose of adding words to the insert later on, like "filler". It took place in of all places, our construction battered ghetto backyard. We just walked around in our weeds and piles of sticks and pointed aimlessly at nothing and made comments so you could see our mouths moving. Blah Blah Blah. "Yes, here is our ghetto backyard and No, this is not a flophouse, please watch your step..." Stuff like that.

Then we rollerbladed up and down our street and rushed past the cameraman who was filming us over and over. My neighbors were really wondering what was going on. They kept looking out their windows and staring. I felt important again. : )

Part VI: The Salon

Then it was off to The Salon to tape an acrylic fill with the illustrious Roseann. The hairstylist had an appointment and we were about 45 min. late so she took off. I don't blame her. After interviewing Roseann about the various nail techniques and how people are affected after having a relaxing manicure, we spoke about the closest I would ever come to being a perfect ten was the ten perfect lilac painted nails Roseann had done. Ha Ha!!!
