Default Vi Peel

Hi everyone I am new to this site and wanted to share with you my experience with the Vi Peel. I am now at day 8 after the peel, which I believe is a combination of TCA, phenol, and it has been interesting. This was my first peel and I got it to try and get rid of some of the hyperpigmentation I have left over from acne.

I have attached photos which are the best description but I would like to say that this peel is not as easy as the website makes it out to be. You WILL NOT be able to be in public for about 4 to 5 days because not only is your face peeling off in sheets, but if you are as fair as me you will be tomato red. I feel like my redness only started to go away in the last two days in fact. Also, I have experienced uneven healing and you will notice that in my photos there are patches around my mouth and on the right side of my forhead that actually scabbed and are more red than the rest of my skin.

At the 7 day mark I started my Obagi Nu Derm system and I am expecting to become red again as I have heard the first two weeks will be another experience in peeling, unhappy skin before your new skin emerges. That is fine with me though, it can't be more peely, itchy, and dry than what I've just been through with the Vi Peel.

Hi Kailee! Your new skin looks great! You've made me want to try it...I certainly need to do something, my skin looks horrible! Did it burn really bad? Did you buy the system or have it applied at your PS's office? I just checked & luckily my PS does offer it but if I can save a little money, all the better! Thanks for posting your pictures! You are beautiful!

Default Wow... and .....

Hi,

Just wanted to say congrats on your new beautiful skin.

I realize this is not so much my business but I couldn't help saying something about the chemical peel followed by the OBAGI. I have done many chemical peels and I thought it was very irritating to put any type of exfoliating agent on one's face for at least a month or so .

Again, I am not the expert but I thought I would mention it. I would want someone to mention it to me if the time was right.

Be well and enjoy your beautiful new skin!

Shlovies, you were correct! Putting the obagi on a week after was a bit premature b/c it made my skin very upset and red. I think I was so eager to continue with the results of my peel that in my mind it seemed the wise thing to do, but I will hold off a few more weeks.

My worst problem is picking though, blackheads and the like. If I don't play with my face, I won't get the scarring you see in my before pic. It's a tough habit to break but certainly worse for my face than age ever has been. NO PICKING!

I will post more "after" pictures tomorrow as it will be day 12 after the Vi Peel. It's wierd, some days I'm red, some not. I suppose it's useful to remember that even though my skin is not visibly peeling off anymore, doesn't mean it is still not healing.

Here are new pics. I circled the parts in my last pic of the patchy areas that are still redder than the rest of my face. Also, in second pic you will see that it looks like I have misplaced lipliner on. That is actually where my lips were burned by the peel. Until yesterday they were kind of peely and gross and DRY. Oh well.

Default Kaillee, how are you liking your new skin ?

hi Kaillee,

how is it going, now that it's been some time since your VI Peel ?

how are you liking your skin ? i had a vi peel 1 week ago, so i'm still in the peeling stages. my forehead is peeling a lot today & yesterday.

do you like the results enough to not do any more peels, or to do a VI Peel again sometime in the future, or are you feeling like you want to try something different next time ?

it's too soon for me to tell,
it's the first peel i've ever done.

take care &
enjoy your beautiful new skin !
sincerely,
wendy
