Viola! Non
Surgical Eye Lift
by Clavin Laboratories
What
Is the Viola! Non Surgical Eye Lift?
We met with Dr. Harold D. Clavin in Santa Monica and while in our
meeting the non surgical eyelift somehow got brought up -- and of course
I was interested! You're thinking non surgical? Is it an exercise?
Is it one of those out-patient, suspension
procedures with a few sutures? Did I even hear you correctly?
Have I
gone mad? Did you say non surgical??
That's how I felt! Although, when I
found out they were little adhesive strips I was skeptical -- until I put
them on...

The application did not hurt
at all! It was simple and took only a few seconds. The tape was affixed
to the applicator and rolled across my eyelid, slightly
above my natural crease. Then I thought surely these little things will not
make a difference and if they do you will surely be able to see them.
And if you can't, well they will feel weird when I blink. I was wrong
about all of it. |
They did not feel weird, in fact
everything was brighter, I could see a bit better. When I blinked I felt
that there was something there but not like I thought it was going to
be. It was practically imperceptible. And I am sure I would get used to
it in a few minutes -- which I did. |

I had NO make up on
that one eyelid (it is removed before application) and they were only
visible when I closed my eyes for a long period of time. I could put
make up over it and some powder and it would not be visible unless you
were looking for it. And this photo was RIGHT after the
application and hadn't fully settled in yet. Besides, who the heck is
going to sit there with their eyes closed during a conversation?

What About When You Blink?
The normal human blink lasts only two- or three-tenths of a second!
You
can usually see a blink but you couldn't see this tape unless you are
probably STARING at the crease just to look for something. Plus Marc
said he couldn't see it and he was trying. |

You tell me. Look to the left and click
on the photo -- notice the eye lid on the left (my right) is higher than
the other. I can make my eyes more exotic too! I can put it more towards
the outer lid and lift up the outer area for a more cat-like look.
But ,
this takes practice and the ease comes with that. I think if I practice
with them I can achieve several looks. I believe if I place the tape a
little more to the outer eye area that they will look awesome. Not for
every day use for me just yet -- one day though. *sigh*
|
| Good thing about these tapes too is that they have
no risks, can be used on any eye type and removal barely hurts at all.
It stung a wee bit because I put them on and then took them off after a
few minutes. The oils that are excreted by the skin after a bit will
soften the removal up, but will not compromise the adhesiveness of the
tape to a point that the tapes fail.
Frequently Asked
Questions About the Non Surgical Eyelift
- How difficult is it to apply the Viola! Non
Surgical Eyelift tapes?
It takes practice at first but it really isn't that difficult -- the
most difficult thing is doing the in-the-mirror-am-I-going-to-the-right-or-left? motion.
You know how that
is. But, the instructions are very in depth and if you DO put it on
incorrectly, you can always try again. With these eye tapes a
mistake won't impair your eye function like an improperly performed blepharoplasty.
- Is this an ideal product to "try"
on an upper blepharoplasty before surgical committal?
While I hesitate to comment that any product is *ideal* -- these
tapes surely showed me what I would look like without the extra skin
and herniated fat of the upper eyelid. I think it would be safe to
say the results are similar to a blepharoplasty -- without the risks.
Perhaps you could se if you'd like the widened eye look before you
commit to a surgery. Although remember that different placements or
sizes of tape give you different looks.
- Can I wear make up with the Viola! Non
Surgical Eyelift tapes? And what if I don't want to wear make up -
will you see them?
Wearing cosmetics over the tapes will help hide them but are not an
altogether necessary element in camouflage. While it can certainly
help them, do not worry if you dislike wearing cosmetics -- the tapes
are clear and the adhesive is covered by the lax skin -- all you will
see is a crease.
- Will wearing cosmetics hinder the adhesive
from working properly?
Not at all. The adhesives hold your skin, the cosmetics go around
this area, granted if you apply a very greasy or oily foundation
thickly in the eye area, the adhesive at the edges may begin to deteriorate
after several hours. Also be sure to remove any preexisting oil or
cosmetics with a good cleanser and/or toner before application of the
tapes as this will compromise the adhesive.
- Are the Viola! Non Surgical Eyelift tapes
comfortable to wear?
At first it felt as though I had something on my eyelid, but not
like as if you had a piece of packing tape on your lid. It's almost
imperceptible and it just felt as though I had a wider eye -- not
like I had any sort of tape, or gadget tugging at my skin. I mean I noticed
a change but it was an all around good change -- and I don't even
have much sag or bag. I can only imagine the difference it would
make for a person with exceptional or more than average upper eyelid
bag. I'd be willing to bet it would be liberating to be able to
INSTANTLY have less of a heavy upper eyelid look and possibly see a
bit better if the bag or hooding covered part of the person's field
of vision.
- Is this a sales pitch? Do you have any financial
interest in these eye lift tapes?
Absolutely not! I just thought they were pretty neat and for
something so simple to be able to do so much without any downtime was
ingenious. I just thought I'd share it with you all!
I know I am going to order me a box as soon as they are in stock!
